Basso Design Group, the award-winning digital marketing agency, has been awarded the Communicator Award for the College of Communication Arts and Sciences website at Michigan State University. Basso Design Group was chosen to design and develop a new website as well as other digital marketing initiatives to bring further awareness to the college, making it a go-to destination for those already enrolled and those who are interested in enrolling in the college.

The Communicator Awards is the leading international awards program recognizing big ideas in marketing and communications. Since Basso Design Group opened its doors over ten years ago, it has won significant awards from multiple award agencies including the Davey Awards, the Clarion Awards, the Webby Awards, the Pixel Awards People’s Champ Award, and the Corp Magazine’s Michigan’s Economic Bright Spots Award.

The College of Communication Arts and Sciences is the largest college at Michigan State University thus making the project quite large with the final page count being over 1,000 pages. Students can study a variety of fields including Advertising and Public Relations, Communication, Journalism, Communicative Science and Disorders, and Telecommunication, Information Studies and Media.
The new website displays the creative makings of current students, as well as highlights alumni and student accomplishments. While in keeping with the traditional colors of Michigan State University, this new website also embraces the strategic use of color to draw the visitors’ eye to essential areas. Visitors can easily navigate to interested aspects of the site without the confusion other institution sites present, using the simple navigation menu structure put in place by Basso Design Group.

This new site also brings together, for the first time, the various educational departments into one centralized area along with advising, career services and student groups. Each department has its own mini-site encompassed in the main CAS website. Each department can display department related information for students, faculty and alumni. The creative use of color from Basso Design Group separates one department from another with strategic hues of color only seen in a specific department.
